OUR STORY

WOMEN BEYOND THE TEE

Women Beyond The Tee was founded with a clear purpose: to empower women in the insurance industry through a supportive community built around golf and meaningful networking. Inspired by personal experiences of feeling intimidated and striving to belong in a sport so closely tied to relationship-building, the organization was created to help women gain confidence both on and off the course.

Because so many industry events revolve around golf, stepping onto the course can feel daunting—but golf is more than a game; it is a powerful platform for connection, leadership, and opportunity. Women Beyond the Tee is dedicated to changing that narrative by fostering an inclusive environment where women can step outside their comfort zones, build authentic relationships, and grow professionally.

By combining skill-building with intentional networking, the organization ensures women feel comfortable, confident, and fully included in these important spaces, whether they are new to the game or expanding their presence—creating a strong foundation for lasting connections and meaningful impact.

Tammy Sell

PRESIDENT & FOUNDER

Tammy has more than 20 years of experience on the carrier side of the insurance industry. She currently works as Assistant Vice President of Claims at Old Republic Alternative Markets and is also a board member of the Philadelphia Loss Conference.  She has built a career around  relationship-building, strategic thinking, and fostering meaningful connections.

Growing up, Tammy never imagined that she would enjoy playing golf, let alone ever pick up a club, but it has become one her favorite hobbies, besides cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles or Phillies, of course!

Through this organization, Tammy hopes to help other women step outside their comfort zones, build connections, and enjoy the game with confidence and community.
